Beschrijving

The Victron Lynx Smart BMS 500 is a dedicated battery management system (BMS) for Victron Smart lithium batteries, which is part of the Lynx distribution system.

Includes a positive and a negative bus bar, a BMS, a contactor and a battery monitor. The Lynx Smart BMS can communicate with the VictronConnect app via Bluetooth and can communicate with a GX device via VE.Can. The Lynx Smart BMS has a status LED and a Bluetooth LED and comes with two VE.Can RJ45 terminators.

Communication VictronConnect app and GX device
The Lynx Smart BMS, and up to 4 connected Lynx distributors, can be monitored and set up using the VictronConnect app or a Victron GX communication device. The GX device can be connected to the VRM portal, allowing remote monitoring. See the VRM page for more information about the VRM portal.

Smart lithium batteries
The Lynx Smart BMS is a dedicated BMS for the Victron Energy range of Lithium Smart batteries. These batteries are lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries and are available in 12.8V or 25.6V and in various capacities. They can be connected in series, parallel and series/parallel to create a battery bank for system voltages of 12V, 24V or 48V.

  •  LiFePO4 compatibility: The BMS is optimised for use with LiFePO4 batteries, known for their high energy density, long life and safety characteristics.
  • Cell balancing: The BMS ensures that all individual cells in the battery are evenly charged and discharged. This prevents some cells from becoming overcharged, which can shorten battery life.
  • Temperature monitoring: the BMS closely monitors the temperature of the battery. If temperatures are too high, the BMS can reduce the charge current to prevent overheating.
  • Overcharge and undervoltage protection: The BMS prevents the battery from being overcharged or discharged too far, which can be harmful to the battery and even dangerous.
  • Communication and monitoring: The Lynx Smart BMS 500 is designed to communicate with other Victron devices, making it possible to monitor battery status and collect data for analysis.
  • Expandability: The BMS can be expanded by connecting multiple Lynx Smart BMS units. This allows larger battery systems to be created.
