Watermakers offer a convenient way to produce fresh water and are an essential piece of equipment for many cruisers.

A water maker is a device that converts seawater into drinking water. In this process, seawater is first filtered to remove impurities, then passed through a reverse osmosis membrane to remove dissolved salts and other contaminants. The resulting freshwater then passes through a final filter to remove all remaining impurities and is then stored in a freshwater tank and is then suitable as drinking water.
