The A054T joins the successful A053T in the range and is explicitly not a successor. Both models will remain available and serve their own target groups.
5 Watt SOTDMA for better visibility
The A054T is a 5 Watt Class B+ SOTDMA AIS transponder. This means more transmission power and, depending on the sailing speed, more frequent position updates than with a traditional 2 Watt Class B transponder.
SOTDMA actively reserves a time slot within the AIS network. This offers a significant advantage, particularly in busy shipping areas, as it increases the likelihood of the vessel's position being transmitted in a timely manner.
The A054T is therefore very suitable for coastal shipping, longer sailing trips, delivery skippers, charter companies, and water sports enthusiasts who value extra visibility.
Built-in display
A significant difference from the A053T is the integrated display. This allows you to check, among other things, the battery status, GPS reception, wireless connections, and system status directly on the device.
This means you don't always need a smartphone, tablet or laptop to check if the transponder is working correctly.
WiFi and Bluetooth
The A054T features both WiFi and Bluetooth. This allows AIS data to be transmitted wirelessly to compatible navigation apps on a tablet, smartphone, or laptop.
WiFi provides broad compatibility with existing navigation software, while Bluetooth offers an additional way to easily connect mobile devices.
Simple configuration via the web app
Just like the A053T, the A054T is also easy to configure via the built-in web app. Ship data can be entered and checked via a normal browser.
An MMSI reset can also be performed with a verification code via the web app. Special software or a separate programming cable is not required.
