The Quark Elec A054T is the powerful expansion alongside the successful A053T portable AIS transponder. Where the A053T particularly excels in simplicity, mobility, and ease of installation, the A054T adds to that 5W Class B+ SOTDMA technology, Bluetooth and a handy built-in display to.
This makes the A054T ideal for watersports enthusiasts who do not want a fixed AIS installation but are looking for the benefits of a more powerful and modern AIS transponder. You are more visible to other vessels, receive AIS targets in the vicinity, and transmit the AIS data wirelessly to your tablet, smartphone, laptop or navigation app.
The main difference from a standard 2W Class B transponder is the higher transmission power of 5 watts and the use of SOTDMA technology. This allows the A054T to transmit AIS data more powerfully and efficiently, which is particularly interesting for sailors and powerboaters seeking greater range, reliability, and visibility.
A key advantage of the A054T is its built-in web app. You don't need to install separate software or use a USB cable to program the transponder. You simply connect via WiFi to the A054T and open the web app in your browser on your phone, tablet, or laptop. There, you can enter the vessel details, check settings, and view the transponder's status. Resetting or changing the MMSI is also much simpler with this than with many traditional AIS transponders. This makes the A054T particularly user-friendly, flexible, and suitable for temporary use, chartering, selling the boat, or using it on multiple vessels.
In addition to WiFi, the A054T also features Bluetooth. AIS data can be sent wirelessly to your navigation app and a maximum of 4 WiFi devices can connect simultaneously. This allows multiple users on board to receive AIS information.
The built-in display gives you direct insight into important status information, such as battery status, charging status, and connections, without needing to pair another device first. This makes onboard checks quick and easy to understand.
