ARCO Zeus Omega Alternator Drive Module
The ARCO Zeus Omega Alternator Drive Module is the expansion module for the modular Zeus Omega dynamo control system. With an additional Alternator Drive Module, a second or subsequent externally controlled dynamo can be added to an existing Zeus Omega installation.
One The Zeus Omega Control Module can accommodate up to six individual Alternator Drive Modules Each dynamo can be individually set, controlled, and monitored. This makes the module ideal for installations with multiple motors, multiple dynamos, or different dynamo capacities.
The Alternator Drive Module is mounted directly to the alternator and connected locally to the field post, voltage measurement, and temperature sensor. The connection to the central Control Module is via via a single M12 communication cable. This means no extensive wiring harness is needed between the alternator and the battery bank. This leads to a faster installation, fewer connections, and easier troubleshooting.
The module supports both positive and negative regulated alternators and is suitable for 12V, 24V, and 48V systems. The Zeus Omega automatically calculates the permissible field current and protects the rotor from overload.
Thanks to Engine Run Detection The module automatically detects when the engine and alternator are running. A separate ignition wire is therefore not required. If communication with the Control Module is interrupted, the Emergency Charging Mode can independently control the alternator to continue charging up to the set float voltage.
The Alternator Drive Module is fully potted and has an IP68 protection rating. With a maximum operating temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, the module has been specially developed for installation in hot and humid engine compartments.
Please note: this is an optional expansion module and not a standalone dynamo control system. An ARCO Zeus Omega Control Module and a suitable M12 connection cable are required for use.
