New SailProof SP88S 8-inch rugged Android tablet
The SailProof SP88S is a compact and powerful 8-inch tablet designed specifically for use on the water. Robust, waterproof and perfectly readable in sunlight. This is not a standard consumer tablet but a real marine workhorse.
With a 1000 nits bright IPS display the SP88S is extremely readable in direct sunlight. Ideal in the cockpit or on deck. The touchscreen can be operated with wet fingers and with gloves, making it perfect for use while sailing. Even when wearing polarised sunglasses, the screen remains clearly visible.
The tablet runs on a modern Android version with full access to the Play Store. So you choose which navigation apps to use, such as Waterkaarten, Navionics or other route and weather apps. Thanks to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, it runs smoothly and you have plenty of space for maps and offline data.
Under the bonnet is an octa core processor and an accurate GPS receiver with support for GPS, GLONASS and Galileo. Positioning is fast and stable, even without an internet connection. The 8000 mAh battery ensures long battery life on board.
The housing has an IP67 waterproof and shockproof finish. Splash water, rain or a wet deck are no problem. This makes the SP88S perfect for sailing yachts, motorboats, sloops and rib boats where a standard tablet simply falls short.
If you are looking for a compact, robust navigation solution without overheating problems like many consumer tablets, then the SailProof SP88S is a very interesting choice. Small in size, big in performance and built for use on the water.
