J1708 to NMEA 2000 engine interface
This interface allows you to easily connect engines with a J1708 serial connection to an NMEA 2000 network. This makes important engine data such as RPM, temperature, operating hours, and fuel consumption (depending on engine type) visible on your chartplotter or other NMEA 2000 displays.
The interface supports the widely used J1587 standard and the KAD/EDC protocol developed by Volvo Penta. This makes it suitable for Volvo Penta EDC I engines such as the KAD 44, KAD 300 and TAMD73-75, among others, and also compatible with EDC II engines such as the D12C-A MP.
Key features
- Does Volvo Penta KAD / EDC support protocols
- Display of engine data on NMEA 2000 network
- Adjustable alarms for engine speed, boost pressure, coolant temperature, oil pressure and battery voltage, among others
- Simple installation, in most cases without extra wiring
- Configuration via MicroSD card
- Galvanically isolated connection between NMEA 2000 and J1708
- J1708 data logging capability for diagnosis
- Supports 1 engine + transmission, 2 batteries and 2 fuel tanks per adapter
The interface is equipped with a connector that fits directly onto the Volvo Penta EDC diagnostic port (EDC I and EDC II). For other engines, a mating connector is included, allowing you to easily create a suitable adapter cable.
A compact and reliable solution to display engine data on your existing NMEA 2000 network.
